Each medal created for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is unique and hand-cropped from two large pieces of Hunt’s artwork. The circular Olympic medals feature the Orca – a symbol for beauty, strength, and community.
The square Paralympic medals feature the Raven – a symbol of totem rising or rising above challenges. Arbel’s undulating surface design represents the West Coast landscape of mountains, waves, and drifting snow.
