This project originated with a program called Wall Against Violence, created to encourage youth to take a stand against violence.
Originally proposed by local youth worker Greg McDonnell, Whistler Secondary School art teacher Brenda Norrie facilitated the project and the students in 2005 and 2007 painted tiles exploring the theme of peace. This area is now known as Peace Park.
