This steel and wood sculpture honors Seppo Makinen (1928 – 1999), whose logging crews cleared many of the original ski runs on Whistler Mountain during the 1950s and 70s. Makinen is a Whistler legend and well remembered for his generous and friendly spirit as well as his motto: “Just another day in paradise.”
