This piece is based on the legend of a two-headed sea serpent and represents unity, power, peace, and healing. The serpent was terrorizing the Squamish people and a man finally slayed the creature after many years. As a reward he received supernatural powers, which helped him create unity for the Squamish Nation.
This work was inspired by the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, with Squamish Nation one of four Host Nations.
