This carving highlights the symbolic importance of Eagle feathers in the Lil’wat Nation, which are received or found after achieving success. In this artwork, earning a feather is also seen as a metaphor for an athlete who earns a medal at Games time. This piece shows two intertwined Eagle feathers rising with the figure of a Nordic athlete within each.

This work was inspired by the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, with Lil’wat Nation one of four Host Nations.
