This metal sculpture recounts the story of a Whisky Jack bird that once ‘shared’ the artist’s lunch. The Whisky Jack is a common bird found around the restaurants on Whistler Mountain and boldly takes food from humans.

A peanut rotates inside her belly because “they’ll take them right out of your hand if you let them.” The name Whiskey Jack comes from the Cree word Wisakedjak. Another name for this bird is Canada Jay.
