Kids on the Go (KOTG) uses recreational activities like games, crafts, cooking, sports and outings to enhance your child’s social and emotional growth. Open to school-age children through Grade 6.

Program updates

Location, rates and hours of operation 

Kids on the Go is located at Myrtle Philip Community School (6195 Lorimer Road) in two classrooms although there are many times when the groups are outside, in the gym, or off-site. Pick-up service provided for children attending Spring Creek Elementary and Ecole La Passerelle. 

Kids on the Go Junior (Kinder and Grade 1) 

  • Maximum 24 participants 
  • $29 per day for after school 2-6 p.m.  
  • $69 per day for full-day programming 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Kids on the Go Senior (Grades 2 to 7) 

  • Maximum 30 participants 
  • $26.75 per day for afterschool 2-6 p.m. 
  • $69 per day for full-day programming 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

After school programs include a healthy snack option. (See above snack schedule)

Summer 2026 Registration 

Kids on the Go (KOTG) will continue to provide contactless registration process for the 2026 Summer Camp Program. This means families will not line up in person to register for Kids on the Go Summer Camp programs at Myrtle Philip Community Centre. 

For families with children who attended KOTG a minimum of 10 days from July 2024 to December 2025: 

  • Children will be prioritized by the total number of days they attended KOTG, Myrtle Philip Art and summer camps from July 1,  2024 to December 31, 2025. Days where children were registered but cancelled and received a refund will not be included. 
  • Families are asked to send an email to KOTG@whistler.ca by Sunday, March 15, 2026 with all of their requested dates for the Summer (June 29 – September 4, 2026). Please include your child’s first and last name and their grade for the 2025-2026 school year. E-mails will be accepted until Sunday, March 15, 2026 but prioritized by the conditions above. 
  • Families that do not provide requested dates by 11:59 p.m. on March 15, 2026 will be required to register as new families. 
  • Siblings will be registered at the same time prioritized by the sibling with the most days registered. 

Families not registered in Kids on the Go a minimum of 10 days between July 2024 to December 2025: 

  • New and infrequent families will be able to register for a waitlist position in order to receive a call-back for program enrolment on Sunday, April 19, 2026 starting at 6 a.m. here
  • Prior to waitlist registration on April 19, families will need an active recreation account in Xplor Recreation/Perfect Mind in order to register. Recreation account sign-up can be done by calling Meadow Park Sports Centre at 604-935-PLAY (7529) from Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • New families will be contacted by phone in order of waitlist position beginning at 6 a.m. on April 19 to register their children. 
  • Please be prepared to register for all dates for the 2026 Summer Camp at 6am on Sunday, April 19. 

All families: 

  • Please be prepared to register for the entire Summer, (June 29, 2026 to September 4, 2026) with no program on July 1 and August 3) Resident: $71/day.  
  • Parents are responsible to ensure their financial details are up to date in our registration system. 
  • Parents are responsible to ensure their schedules are correct within a maximum of 1 week from the date they are registered. 
  • Payment for registered days will be collected as follows: 

     – Pay a Non-Refundable 25% deposit at time of registration 

     – Balance of fees will be charged monthly, on the first day of each month.  

  • **Notice**: The 25% down payment is non-refundable.  

As with previous years, we ask families to register only for the days they are certain they will require care for so that we are able to accommodate almost all families.  

The KOTG cancellation policy will remain the same. One full calendar month is required in order to not be charged the balance owing for registered days (cancel by the 31st of May for any July and June 30 for August dates registered, etc.). For further details regarding the cancellation policy

Mandatory forms

Please ensure you have received the mandatory paperwork for your child’s participation in Kids on the Go Aftershool or Summer Camp by emailing kotg@whistler.ca or contacting the office at 604-935-8370, if you did not receive it at time of registration.

We are a licensed program and therefore require the following information to be provided before your child’s participation in the program: 

  • A completed registration form
  • A completed immunization form prior to having your child attend our programs, and
  • An emergency consent card located in our office. These cards have important contact information for your children and are taken with us whenever we leave the building.

Key dates 

Kids on the Go follows the Myrtle Philip and Spring Creek school calendars and is therefore closed on public holidays. The program does run on Professional Days. Please mark your calendar in advance to plan ahead for the following closures or adjusted days.

Cancellation policy

Summer camp policy 

25% deposit is nonrefundable. A full calendar month’s cancellation notice is required to not be charged the balance owing for registration. 

*Example:This means that any changes to your July schedule needs to be communicated to the Recreation Programmer by May 31.* 

Afterschool program policy 

A full calendar month’s cancellation notice is required to not be charged for days that are registered. 

*Example:This means that any changes to your October schedule needs to be communicated to the Recreation Programmer by August 31.* 

The $5 per day withdrawal fee will be applied to all cancellations.   

Frequently asked questions 

How much time do I need to give to cancel days and receive a refund? 

Caregivers who wish to change their child’s days of enrollment or to withdraw from the program are asked to give written notice a calendar month in advance to kotg@whistler.ca. For example, changes for the month of November must be emailed to kotg@whistler.ca no later than September 30. Changes made less than one calendar month in advance are not eligible for refunds. Switching or swapping is still considered a cancellation and therefore do not allow for a refund. Additionally trading days with other families is not permitted. 

How do I add or change days? 

Changes can be made to your child(ren)’s registration by calling the Recreation Programmer at 604.935.8370 or emailing your changes to kotg@whistler.ca. 

Do you pick up children from Spring Creek Community School? 

We use our 15 passenger vans to transport the children from Spring Creek Community School to Myrtle Philip Community School. Our vans are serviced monthly, inspected daily and driven by qualified Class 4 drivers. The vans are equipped with either car seats or booster seats. 

Is Kids On The Go open when there is a Pro-D Day or Collaboration Day? 

When school is not in session, we offer a full day KOTG program. Children may be dropped off at 8:30 a.m. and picked up by 5:30 p.m. Our full day programs are active and usually have an off-site activity scheduled. Children must have a nut-free lunch, snacks, water bottle, and appropriate clothing for the trip and weather. The same paperwork is required prior to your child(ren) attending the full day program. You must contact the Recreation Programmer at 604.935.8370 or kotg@whistler.ca to register. 

What subsidies are available for the KOTG Program? 

The Affordable Child Care Benefit is a monthly payment to help eligible families with the cost of childcare. Factors like income, family size, and type of care determine how much support families can get.  

Families need to renew their application every year.
