Crews have begun drilling and blasting on Parcel A for the Cheakamus Crossing employee housing development.  This work is expected to conclude on February 12th.

Impacts

  • Daily construction schedule continues to be 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Blasting will occur within these hours.
  • Crews are currently doing 2 blasts per day, and will ramp up to a maximum of 8 blasts per day when the rest of the equipment arrives on site.

  • Signage has been posted at all adjacent trail entrances, and trails are swept and guards are posted to close the trail ensuring that no one is in the blast zone while blasting takes place.
  • Expect intermittent trail closures for up to 10 minutes, between 8am and 4:30pm.
