Parking rate increases for Lots 1-5 starting July 1

Parking rates help cover the costs of operating the Day Lots and support our Big Moves climate action goals. The rate changes help us continue to operate efficiently and invest in local transit. Electric vehicle charging rates also increased from Tuesday, July 1 to help cover the cost of hydro and the maintenance of the chargers.

  • No parking in Day Lots 1 to 5 and Oversized Lot from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m., Nov. 1 to Mar. 31. Maximum stay is 24 hours.
  • Year-round pay parking now in effect for Day Lots 1 to 5 and Oversized Lot between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Sleeping in vehicles not permitted on Whistler roads, municipal parking lots or on private property.
  • Please note that Whistler parking lots can be busy on weekends and during holidays periods and the number of spaces is limited in public lots. There are a number of private options available. Also consider alternatives to driving, carpooling with groups, and other options.

Day Lots 1 to 5 and Oversized Lot ownership and management

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) owns Day lots 1 to 5 and the Oversized Lot. Whistler Blackcomb manages snow clearing and traffic control in the lots. The RMOW provides pay parking equipment and enforces parking rules.

Revenue pays for operating the Day Lots and Oversized Lot, and is also invested in the lot capital reserves. Additional revenue funds community transportation initiatives such as transit.

A joint Day Lot Management Committee of two Resort Municipality of Whistler staff and two Whistler Blackcomb staff provide input into parking rates, maintenance, operations, and the budget.
