Keep Whistler idle-free

In an effort to reduce emissions, protect our air quality, and reduce noise, vehicle idling is not allowed for more than one minute, unless the motor vehicle:

  • is idling while passengers are actively embarking or disembarking;
  • is idling due to traffic congestion, an emergency, or mechanical difficulties;
  • is an emergency vehicle;
  • is an armoured vehicle involved in the secure delivery or pickup of goods;
  • must remain idling to power equipment or refrigeration systems; or
  • is engaged in a parade or race.
