The RMOW operates two waste depots to collect recycling, compost, yard waste and landfill waste.
The depots are for single-family residents and residential complexes of less than 12 units that pay the annual Operation Fee. All materials are accepted free of charge.
Commercial operators are required to bring waste to the Whistler Waste Transfer Station and pay applicable tipping fees.
No wheels? No worries. Residents can bring recycling, compost and landfill waste on the bus to bring them to the waste depots. Just follow a few simple rules.
- Function Junction Depot: 1001 Lynham Road
- Nesters Depot: 8010 Nesters Road
Hours of operation
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
- Landfill waste
- Yard waste: Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, yard waste is currently only collected at the Function Junction depot, since there is more space at Function Junction for the collection bins.
- Liquid waste: A sanitation dump is available at the Function Junction depot for RV users to properly dispose of their liquid waste.
The Waste Depots are maintained by a contractor on behalf of the RMOW.
