The Whistler Municipal Heliport is a municipally managed heliport located 3.7 nautical miles (6.9 km) north of Whistler. It supports a wide range of activity including tourism flights, heli-skiing, industrial lifts, and medical evacuations.
The site is leased by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) from the Province of B.C. Three private helicopter companies sublease space at the site, and a large public itinerant pad remains available for emergency services and visiting helicopters (see fees below).
Day-to-day operations are currently managed under contract by Blackcomb Helicopters. Revenue from itinerant landing and parking fees plus leaseholder payments offset the costs of operating and maintaining the Heliport, ensuring Whistler taxpayers are not subsidizing Heliport operations while still benefiting from its role in tourism and emergency response.
