Fake QR codes found in parking lots
Dec. 29, 2025: Fake QR codes imitating the official PayByPhone payment signs were discovered on pay parking terminals and signs in the Whistler Day Lots 1 through 5 (in the main Village Centre) and Main Street municipal parking areas, and the Marketplace private lot off Lorimer Road. Municipal parking in Whistler does not use QR codes for payment.
Please report any parking QR code to privacy@whistler.ca.
Parking can be paid for at the pay stations, through the PayByPhone website, PayByPhone app, by phone at 1-866-234-7275, or in person at Municipal Hall during business hours.
Move beyond the car
Consider moving “beyond the car” when travelling to, and within, Whistler.
Personal transport is Whistler’s biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for over half of the community’s total emissions. It’s also increasing, as we see more vehicle trips in Whistler.
Help us reach our GHG reduction target
Whistler’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target is to reduce emissions by 50 percent below 2007 levels. By 2030, emissions should be capped at 66,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide and equivalents.
Support Whistler’s emission reduction goals by using alternative transportation to get here and to travel within the resort. Learn more about Whistler’s Big Moves Climate Action Strategy.
