The BC Conservation Officer Service shared that Conservation Officers are investigating a bear attack on Friday evening in the backcountry near Conflict Lake in the Callaghan Conservancy. Read BC Parks Callaghan Conservancy page with details of the closure.
The Conservation Officer Service (COS) reports that three hikers encountered two bears near Conflict Lake around 5 p.m. and one of the bears attacked one of the hikers. The hiker is in hospital and her injuries aren’t life threatening.
The COS are at the site today investigating the bear attack.
