What is Whistler Presents?

The Whistler Presents Festival, Events and Animation (FE&A) Program is funded by Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI), with the goal of attracting visitors to Whistler, while working in partnership with Tourism Whistler.  Tourism Whistler is charged with promoting the programming and associated accommodation packages through various marketing channels such as Whistler.com, advertising and email marketing and social media.

The FE&A program includes original programming, animation and street entertainment, programming that extends the core program of a variety of third party events, as well as investment in event testing and development.

Whistler Presents: Summer Concert Series

The Whistler Presents concert line-up for July was announced on April 2. This year’s original programming features an expanded Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) program and a 12-day Whistler Presents Concert Series.  All dates are set and the performer details have been finalized for the July Whistler Presents concert performances at Whistler Olympic Plaza as part of the animation program.

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra returns to Whistler in 2013, performing for free in the open air surrounded by unforgettable mountain views and endless summer skies.

July 16, 17 – Afternoon quartets/ quintets along the Village Stroll (3 performances per day)
July 19, 20 – 8 p.m. performances
July 21 – 2 p.m. performance

Whistler Street Entertainment

(May - November 2013 | Whistler Village)

Whistler Street Entertainment presents free, family-friendly events, attractions and performers on weekends from May through November. Whistler Street Entertainment will animate the paths of Whistler Village and provide interactive entertainment by performers from the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and touring artists from across Canada. Entertainment includes juggling acts, circus performers, musicians, bike stuntman, dancers and acrobats.

Canada Day 2013

Registration is now open for the Whistler Canada Day Parade! Monday July 1, 2013 - Mark your Calendars!

The Canada Day Parade features over 50 festive floats, marching bands and community groups which entertain over 5,000 locals and regional guest spectators.

“My Canada! – What does Canada mean to you?” is this year’s theme and we encourage everyone to get creative in their parade entry. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your business and community groups to join in on the festivities by participating in the 2013 Canada Day Parade.

All floats will be judged on creativity, effort and theme demonstration for the following categories:

  • Best interpretation of the parade theme
  • Most team effort, involvement and enthusiasm
  • Best innovative approach to a sustainable entry
  • Best musical entry

This is the weekend to shop and eat your way throughout Whistler Village in preparation for the upcoming winter season. Bring the kids for free autumn-themed craft making at Millennium Place.

Get your skis shined up because this is the weekend to celebrate the return of the endless winter activities in Whistler. Play by day, shop, eat and celebrate by night. There will be spectator sporting events, free street entertainment, Whistler’s original artisan market; Bizarre Bazaar and more.

Whistler Presents: The Holiday Experience

The indoor family fun zone at the Whistler Conference Centre is unparalleled for indoor entertainment. Kids can enjoy a mini putt course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games free. Parents can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a coffee or hot cocoa while the kids play.

The RMOW also allocates RMI funds to resort partners and programs including: Tourism Whistler, Whistler Chamber of Commerce, Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Village Host, Whistler Arts Council, Whistler Film Festival, the Sea to Sky Trail project, as well as a variety of one-off or destination festivals and events.
