The engineering division of the Infrastructure Services Department administers the following permits.
Hydrant Usage Permits
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) permits use of water from fire hydrants in accordance with Section 10.5 of Fire Protection and Fireworks Bylaw No. 2046, 2014. A hydrant use permit is required.

Water Sprinkling Regulations and Permits
Whistler often experiences long, hot dry spells in the summer months, which result in drinking water supply limitations.
The RMOW has implemented lawn sprinkling restrictions to help reduce water consumption. In unusually dry summers, additional restrictions may be implemented according to Water Use Regulation Bylaw No. 1538, 2001.
Review Water Sprinkling Regulations. If you are planting a new lawn and wish to water on off days (not permitted in the regulation), a water sprinkling permit is required.

Removal and Deposit of Soil Permit
The RMOW regulates the removal and deposit of soil from lands within Whistler by enforcement of the Soil Removal and Deposit Bylaw No. 1332, 1998. A soil removal/deposit permit is required if the volume of soil being removed or deposited exceeds 200 cubic metres.
Traffic Calming Request
The RMOW has a Traffic Calming Policy that guides the development and implementation of traffic calming measures to maintain and enhance safety for road users, residents, visitors and neighbourhoods in Whistler.
