Water valve and fitting replacement program 2026

Status

The assessment and design phases were finalized by R.F. Binnie and Associates Ltd. in 2020 and 2021. The Design completed in late fall 2025 to winter 2026 and the invitation to tender was posted in February of 2026. The Contract was approved by council and awarded for construction at the end of March 2026. Currently, the project is set for construction to start in May and be completed Oct. 2026

Overview

The aim of this project is to conduct preventative maintenance and replace corroded valves and fittings along the water and sewer mains. By replacing these components, we aim to prolong the lifespan of the existing infrastructure and reduce the need for future unplanned repairs.
