FACILITIES AND RECREATION
Nesters Waste Depot will close for maintenance on Friday, October 31
Function Junction Depot and Whistler Waste Transfer Station will remain open as usual. Please note that additional fees may apply at the Whistler Waste Transfer Station. Nesters Waste Depot will reopen on Saturday, November 1. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Whistler Public Library Wonder Lab temporary closure
The Wonder Lab at Whistler Public Library will close to the public from October 27 to November 30. The small meeting rooms, the new pod, and all other public areas will remain open. Click the link for more details. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Halloween at Tapley’s neighbourhood
Trick or treaters get ready for a howling good time. The “Park and Spook” free shuttle will be running between Marketplace and Tapley’s from 5:07 to 8:25 p.m. on Friday, October 31. Water quality improvements for South Whistler

PARKS AND TRAILS
Sea to Sky Trail adaptive mountain bike improvements
Upgrades are underway on a two kilometre section of the Sea to Sky Trail. The section runs from Bayly Park/Train Wreck Parking south to the Cheakamus River Suspension Bridge. Improvements aim to enhance accessibility for adaptive mountain bikes. The trail will remain open during construction. Expect work crews and minor delays. The team plans to complete the work by Saturday, November 15, weather permitting.
Cheakamus Lava Escarpment Park
Construction of the Cheakamus Lava Escarpment Park has begun and is expected to continue until the end of November 2025.
CONSTRUCTION
Sewer and water main repairs continue on Fitzsimmons Walk Valley Trail, Blackcomb Way, Mons Road and Nancy Greene Drive
Repairs are in progress at several locations. Expect minor delays and single-lane alternating traffic until Friday, November 7.
Sewer main and manhole inspections program
Inspections will take place at various locations throughout the Whistler Valley until Friday, November 7. Contractors will have mobile signs out marking their present location while the work is taking place.
RCMP renovation underway
Please expect reduced parking at Municipal Hall, and increased construction activity, noise and traffic throughout this period. Construction is scheduled until April, 2026.
FUEL THINNING
Wildfire fuel management along Highway 99, near Emerald Estates
We are managing vegetation to lower wildfire risk along Highway 99, near Green Lake and the Emerald Estates neighbourhood. Expect minor delays and intermittent single-lane alternating traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays until Monday, November 3. View our website to learn more and see the map of the affected area.
GETTING AROUND
Winter parking regulations in effect from Saturday, November 1
Whistler’s winter parking regulations are in effect from November 1 to March 31 to help keep roads and parking lots cleared:
- No even side parking Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays).
- No odd side parking any time during the year.
- No overnight parking in the day lots or any other surface level lots in the winter to allow for snow clearing.
