Including four traditional myths, at the top is the Thunderbird with outstretched wings that represent mountaintops. Find lightning snakes on the wings, which produce thunder and lightning when clapped together. In the middle are two faces representing the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations and the people of Whistler living in harmony. The legs are designs of the frog, a symbol of new life from winter.
This work was inspired by the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, with Squamish Nation one of four Host Nations.
