River of Golden Dreams (ROGD) mandatory portage

Due to low water levels on the RODG there is a mandatory portage in effect between the new fish weir and the other side of the CN rail bridge at the bottom of Lorimer Road. Please follow all signage.

Western Toads

The Western Toad migration has begun in Lost Lake Park! A portion of the Beachcut Trail has been closed to protect migrating toads and detour signage has been posted on site. There are no other impacts to Lost Lake Park at this time.

Please look and don’t touch toads or tadpoles, as naturally occurring salts and oils on human hands can be harmful to them. Newly emerged Western Toads are very tiny and can easily be stepped on. Please stay out of wetland areas and pay attention to all posted signage at Lost Lake Park. Dive into the secret life of Whistler’s Western Toads in our new video
