NOTIFICATIONS
Fire danger rating and campfire ban
Whistler’s fire danger rating on Wednesday, September 10, is HIGH. A campfire ban remains in effect in Whistler until September 30, 2025. The ban applies to all levels of fire danger rating, including low and moderate.
When the fire danger rating is high or extreme, a Wildfire Exemption Permit is required for high-risk construction activity and tree services within 10 metres of forest (or treed areas). This applies at any time of day.

PARKS AND TRAILS
Farside Trail in Cheakamus
Adaptive mountain bike trail improvements are ongoing; please expect short delays. Be mindful of equipment and crews working.
Bayly Park BMX track conversion project
A new bike skills park is under construction at Bayly Park. Please stay out of the area for crew and public safety.
The Western Toad migration is ending at Lost Lake Park
We are reaching the end of another successful Western Toad migration in Lost Lake Park. All park closures have now been lifted. Please continue to step carefully as toads may still be found in some areas of the park. Dive into the secret life of Whistler’s Western Toads in our new video.
River of Golden Dreams (ROGD) mandatory portage
Due to low water levels on the RODG there is a mandatory portage in effect between the new fish weir and the other side of the CN rail bridge at the bottom of Lorimer Road. Please follow all signage.
Comfortably Numb bridge replacement
The Wedge Bridge (Al Grey Memorial) on Comfortably Numb Trail is being replaced with a new cable suspension bridge. The bridge is closed to the public until Wednesday, October 1. Access between Wedge and Lost Lake via Comfortably Numb is unavailable. Comfortably Numb North will remain accessible via Young Lust and Comfortably Numb South via a Grey Zone detour. FACILITIES AND RECREATION

Annual maintenance at Meadow Park Sports Centre
The pool remains closed until Tuesday, September 16 but the facility has now reopened. Upgrades include pool painting, changeroom refinishing, sauna repairs, and deep cleaning. Check activity schedules for the best times to play when we reopen.
CONSTRUCTION
Sewer and water main repairs on the Fitzsimmons Walk Valley Trail, Blackcomb Way and Mons Road
Repairs are in progress at several locations, including the Fitzsimmons Walk Valley Trail, Blackcomb Way, Nancy Greene Drive and Mons Road. Expect minor delays and single-lane alternating traffic from Monday, September 8, to Friday, November 7.
RCMP renovation scheduled to start on Monday, September 15
Please expect reduced parking at Municipal Hall from Thursday, September 11, and increased construction activity, noise and traffic throughout this period. Construction is scheduled until April, 2026.
South Whistler Water Supply Upgrade: Function Junction, Cheakamus Crossing, Creekside and surrounding areas
Work continues on the new South Whistler Water Supply Booster Pump Station until Tuesday, September 23. During this period, residents may notice intermittent discolouration in your water. If this occurs, please run your taps until the water runs clear. You may also detect a chlorine taste or odour in the water. These effects are temporary and will return to normal once the work is complete.
FUEL THINNING
Wildfire fuel management along Highway 99, near Emerald Estates, starts Monday, September 22
We will be managing vegetation to reduce wildfire risk along Highway 99 in two areas near Green Lake, in the Emerald Estates neighbourhood. View our website to learn more and see the map of the affected area.
Stonebridge
Fuel thinning in the Whistler Stonebridge treatment unit is underway. Beaver Pass, Whip Me Snip Me, Rainbow Lake, and Lower Beaver Pass trails will be closed to ensure safety to the public. Click the link for more info and to view the map of affected trails.
GETTING AROUND
Transit
We will be offering free transit in Whistler on Tuesday, September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
