Over 350,000 dazzling lights, two nights of animation, and three days of exhilarating Ferris wheel rides will light up Whistler Village to kick off the winter season

The Resort Municipality of Whistler announces the expansion of Whistler Winterlight after its popular 2024 debut. Growing from a one-night-only experience to three days of luminosity, Whistler Winterlight returns to Whistler Olympic Plaza from Thursday, November 27 to Saturday, November 29, 2025. The magnificent celebration-of-light installations aim to spread winter cheer in anticipation of another vibrant season ahead. Featuring the signature Ferris wheel attraction, visitors and locals alike are invited to enjoy the captivating lights of Whistler Village from new heights.
“The feeling of winter’s arrival in Whistler is incomparable,” says Whistler Mayor Jack Crompton. “Marking the start of the season, Whistler Winterlight represents the creativity and dedication of municipal staff who collaborate each year to install festive lights throughout the resort. It’s simply magical to see the joy this effort brings to people of all ages. Whether taking in the animation on the Village Stroll, witnessing a grandchild’s first glide across the outdoor skating rink, or riding the illuminated Ferris wheel with youthful exuberance, each Whistler Winterlight experience becomes a memory that will last a lifetime.”

The awe-inspiring Ferris wheel headlines the programming and is open from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Whistler Winterlight will also feature two new nights of interactive activities. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Whistler Olympic Plaza will come to life with glowing displays, light installations, the BC Parks Foundation Wishing Tree, live music sets by DJs Kookum and Foxy Moron, hands-on circus fun, a pop-up market with festive eats, and much more. The beloved outdoor skating rink at Whistler Olympic Plaza will also open for the season on Thursday, November 27.
With winter cheer, community-building and camaraderie at the core of Whistler Winterlight, many of the animations are available free of charge. The Ferris wheel experience is $5 per person per ride, and admission to the skating rink ranges from $3.50 to $6 per person. Skate rentals are $7 and helmet rentals are free. Proceeds from the Ferris wheel will benefit Whistler Animals Galore (WAG). Whistler Winterlight is proudly presented by the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
