The carved doors are part of the aboriginal art legacy created by the Vancouver Organizing Committee of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC These carved yellow cedar doors represent the culture of the Lil’wat people, one of the Four Host First Nations of the Games.

These doors were originally located at the front vestibule to the building. They are now located indoors at the entry to the Day Lodge lounge.

This youtube video link highlights the 2010 Games aboriginal art program and features artists commissioned for the Games, as well as artist Connie Watts, who managed the art program for VANOC.

The aboriginal art legacy is also described in the book O Siyam (John Wiley & Sons, 2009).

The Day Lodge building was created to host the Nordic events for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
