The newly elected Whistler Council convened for the first Council Retreat of its term last week. On Monday, Dec. 12 and Tuesday, Dec. 13 the councilors discussed key takeaways from the campaign trail learned in the lead up to November’s municipal election. The retreat agenda focused on the main issues facing Whistler for the next five to ten years including housing, community engagement and connectedness, climate, transportation and smart tourism.
A formal set of priorities and initiatives to address the challenges and scenarios which may lie ahead will come to Council in the New Year. In the meantime, Council will take the holiday period to consider the conversation and focus on the salient points and actions.
