For 13 summer nights, Whistler Olympic Plaza will host free outdoor concerts featuring Canadian icons and international artists, combining familiar favourites with fresh finds

Whistler’s popular free outdoor Summer Concert Series makes its return to the iconic Whistler Olympic Plaza stage this summer, with performances scheduled most Thursdays and Fridays throughout July and August. A dynamic lineup of Canadian icons and international artists will take the stage over 13 unforgettable nights. Set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, Whistler Olympic Plaza is home to an open-air stage that has welcomed rising talent, local favourites, and globally recognized artists, cementing its reputation as a premier outdoor venue for live music.

The 2026 summer lineup includes the Steven Page Trio with String Quartet; Ozomatli; The Trews; Dirtwire; The Washboard Union; SkiiTour; Amistat; Kim Churchill; Pete Murray; Goldie Boutilier; Galactic feat. Jelly Joseph; Trooper; Drag in the Mountains; and The Hip Abduction. Before each headliner takes the stage, visitors will also be welcomed by Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre Ambassadors on behalf of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation and the Lil̓wat7úl Nation. This gift of meaningful storytelling through song and drum invites visitors to engage with and learn about the territory within which Whistler is situated.

This year’s lineup transcends genres and speaks to the diversity of both our international visitorship and local residents.”

The series will kick off on Canada Day with Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Steven Page, who has established himself as one of the most recognizable and enduring voices in entertainment. As co-founder, vocalist and songwriter with former band Barenaked Ladies, Steven sang and wrote classics like “Brian Wilson” and “If I Had a Million Dollars.” As a solo artist, he has continued his musical journey performing and writing music, working in film, theatre and television and is an award-winning public speaker on the topic of mental health. His stellar band, The Steven Page Trio includes Craig Northey of Vancouver legends Odds on guitar, the multi-talented Kevin Fox on cello. For this special show, the Trio will be accompanied by a string quartet composed of some of Canada’s finest classical musicians. Together they will perform songs from Steven Page’s vast catalogue of solo material along with lots of Barenaked Ladies hits as only Steven can sing them.

Throughout the summer, attendees are encouraged to dine early at one of Whistler’s local restaurants or pick up takeout, bring a blanket, and settle in as the energy of the crowd meets the magic of the mountains. The free outdoor shows take place most Thursdays and Fridays for July and August, with a break for mountain bike festival, Crankworx. Performances begin with opening acts at 6:30 p.m., followed by headliners at 7:30 p.m., wrapping up each evening around 9 p.m.

Free Outdoor Movies in the Plaza are also returning this summer, taking place on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning at 8 p.m. This summer’s lineup features a mix of timeless favourites and inspiring films, including Jurassic World (July 4), Queen of Katwe (July 8), Kicking & Screaming (July 11), The Way (July 15), and Moneyball (July 18). Screenings continue in August with A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood (August 5), School of Rock (August 8), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (August 12), Raiders of the Lost Ark (August 15), Free Solo (August 19), and McFarland, USA (August 22).

These free outdoor programs are funded by provincial Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT Hotel Tax) revenues collected in Whistler in support of tourism initiatives across the community. More information is available at whistler.ca/concerts.
