FUEL THINNING
Wildfire fuel management along Highway 99, near Emerald Estates
We are managing vegetation to lower wildfire risk along Highway 99, near Green Lake and the Emerald Estates neighbourhood. Expect minor delays and intermittent single-lane alternating traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays until Friday, October 17. View our website to learn more and see the map of the affected area.
GETTING AROUND
Whistler Transit
Free transit will be available in Whistler for the Thanksgiving weekend from Saturday, October 11, to Monday, October 13. For Whistler Transit System bus times, visit our website.
CONSTRUCTION
Sewer and water main repairs continue on Fitzsimmons Walk Valley Trail, Blackcomb Way, Mons Road and Nancy Greene Drive
Repairs are in progress at several locations. Expect minor delays and single-lane alternating traffic until Friday, November 7.
RCMP renovation underway
Please expect reduced parking at Municipal Hall, and increased construction activity, noise and traffic throughout this period. Construction is scheduled until April, 2026.

Meadow Park Sports Centre pool closure on Saturday, October 18
The pool area will be closed for a Whistler Sea Wolves Swim Club meet on Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 7:15 p.m. The leisure pool, fitness and boxing studios will remain closed for the evening. Check out our facility schedule for different ways to play at Meadow Park Sports Centre that weekend. Thank you for your patience, and best of luck to the athletes during this event.

Fire Prevention Week 2025 is from Sunday, October 5
This year’s campaign goal is to share how to safely use lithium-ion batteries. It will also highlight the importance of buying, charging, and recycling these batteries safely. You can find the Whistler Fire Rescue Service team at Fresh Street Market on Friday, October 10, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Canda Post Strike
Learn how the Canada Post strike is expected to affect RMOW correspondence.
Low-level flying helicopters
Low-level flyovers are expected between September 23 and October 23, during daylight hours, as authorized by Transport Canada. This work is part of an annual inspection of high-pressure transmission natural gas lines.
PARKS AND TRAILS
Cheakamus Lava Escarpment Park
Construction of the Cheakamus Lava Escarpment Park has begun and is expected to continue until the end of November 2025.
Farside Trail in Cheakamus
Adaptive mountain bike trail improvements are ongoing; please expect short delays. Be mindful of equipment and crews working.
Bayly Park BMX track conversion project
A new bike skills park is under construction at Bayly Park. Please stay out of the area for crew and public safety.
Comfortably Numb bridge replacement
The Wedge Bridge (Al Grey Memorial) on Comfortably Numb Trail is being replaced with a new cable suspension bridge. The bridge remains closed. Opening of the new bridge is expected in late October. Access between Wedge and Lost Lake via Comfortably Numb is unavailable. Comfortably Numb North will remain accessible via Young Lust and Comfortably Numb South via a Grey Zone detour.
