The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) invites qualified Proponents to provide quotations for weir and fishway installation works in the River of Golden Dreams for river enhancement purposes. The installation of the weir is intended to improve fish passage and habitat, reduce visitor impacts on the streambed and minimize the length of the user’s portage. The work window to complete this project is in between August 12 and 16—works must be completed within the second week of the designated Provincial fish window for instream works.

The RMOW has obtained and holds the Canadian National Railway (CN) permit to complete this work and has completed the Request for Review to the Fish and Fish Habitat Protection Program (FFHPP) of Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO). However, the Change Approval application is pending approval. If permits for this work are not received from the government agency, this project will be postponed until required permits are received. It will be at the sole discretion of the RMOW to extend the agreement term or retender the RFQ if the required permit / approval is not received with sufficient time to complete the project in 2024.

The RMOW is responsible for all permitting and approvals associated. The contract is held to any requirements or stipulations in the permitting and approval documents.
