What is the Community Life Survey?
Whistler’s community life survey is an important part of its community monitoring program that helps track community sentiment to help support transparency and accountability in municipal operations, inform decision-making and facilitate the measurement of trends over time.
Who will be conducting the phone survey?
The 2023 survey is being conducted by Deloitte LLP., a global leader in market research recognized for our innovation, quality and trust. Deloitte helps municipalities connect effectively with residents and businesses through surveys that identify perceptions and opinions and pinpoint the importance of local issues. In Canada, we have been doing this for over 25 years. Our market research experts are experienced professionals committed to ensuring a positive survey experience for all respondents.
Why is there an email sign up process for 2023?
Previous Community Life Surveys have been offered online for all resident or second homeowners to complete. Since 2021, we are requiring respondents to sign up by email to receive the survey directly to their inbox. By collecting email addresses, the RMOW can build a database of community members willing to share their thoughts for future Community Life Surveys to make future surveys more efficient with reliable response rates.
Will my answers be anonymous, even if I provide an email address?
Yes, the results remain completely anonymous for both phone and email/online surveys. The email address collection is purely to create a database of respondents, while responses remain anonymous to the RMOW as Deloitte LLP. processes all of the data and only shares aggregated data for reporting.
Is the email sign up secure?
Any personal information collected as part of this process is under the authority of Section 26(e) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purposes of informing community members about upcoming surveys by the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Will I be asked to share private personal information?
No, the RMOW does not ask for private personal information by phone or email. Private personal information is information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, birth date, Social Security number, street address, etc.
