June 17, 2023 – Bear accessing parcels in Miller’s Ridge, Timber Ridge and Cheakamus neighbourhoods

The Conservation Officer Service (COS) has received reports of a yearling Black Bear accessing and damaging parcel deliveries in the Miller’s Ridge, Timber Ridge and Cheakamus neighborhoods.

The bear accessed coffee in one delivery, but has returned to locations multiple times and damaged other packages not containing food items.

Residents are reminded that unattended and unsecured food is classed as an attractant under Whistler Bylaws. Consider alternative arrangements for deliveries of food items if you will not be home when they are due.
