The Resort Municipality of Whistler works in close partnership with the Provincial Conservation Officer Service and other organizations, such as the Bear Smart Society, to protect Whistler’s resident bear population.
Please report bear or couger encounters by phoning the BC Conservation Officer Service (COS) at 1-877-952-7277. Early reporting allows the COS to assess situations and help keep our community members safe from conflict with wildlife and our animals safe and wild.
Tracking the locations of potential human-bear conflict helps to prevent problem behaviour from escalating. Learn more about what you can do to help keep bears safe.
