Businesses displaying signs in Whistler are required to have a valid Sign Permit in accordance with Sign Bylaw 558, 1987 and any comprehensive sign plans specific to a development.

Application Process

Download the Sign Permit Application.

Return the completed application to the Planning Department at Municipal Hall, along with:

  • two sets of completed and detailed drawings to scale;
  • written approval for the proposed signage from the strata or tenant coordinator; and
  • permit fees.

Home-based Artist Studios

Recent bylaw updates allow licensed home-based artist studios to apply to have one freestanding sign and one sandwich board sign, in addition to the single fascia sign permitted for any home-based business.
