Community Enrichment Grants
Each year, RMOW council awards financial grants to local non-profit organizations or societies that benefit the resort community.
Fee For Service Agreements
Fee for Service agreements provide funding to organizations that provide services which support and supplement existing municipal services.
Municipal and Regional District Tax
The RMOW receives Municipal and Regional District Tax from the Province of British Columbia. Also known as Hotel Tax, the revenues apply to short-term accommodation.
Resort Municipality Initiative
Resort Municipality Initiative funding from the Province of British Columbia is a significant revenue source for eligible resort municipalities and has allowed Whistler to invest in many important programs and services to support tourism.
Strategic Community Investment Funds
The RMOW receives grant money from the Province of BC through the Strategic Community Investment Funds agreement, which includes Small Community Grants and the Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing Program.
Environmental Legacy Fund
The Community Foundation of Whistler’s Environmental Legacy Fund is valued at over $3 million. The funding money is invested, and all interest earned is used to generate grants to benefit environmental organizations in the community.
