Recommendation #3: Development Cost Charge Update

Funding sources for new housing are updated.
Updates to development cost charges are underway to ensure that new construction developments are contributing towards new employee housing. The proposed amendment to the Employee Housing Service Charge Bylaw would require all developers of commercial, industrial and tourist accommodation in Whistler to contribute to the affordable housing stock through the construction of affordable housing for employees or through contribution of cash-in-lieu of development to an employee restricted housing fund.
