The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) updated its Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) in 2018.  This plan protects Whistler’s water quality, public health and the environment.

Overview

A LWMP describes how liquid waste is managed in a community.  It is a comprehensive, long-term strategy on how wastewater is collected, treated and disposed of with the goal of protecting water quality, public health and the environment.

Whistler’s LWMP was first completed in 1993 and updated in 2004 and again in 2018.

Current Status

The Liquid Waste Management Plan was endorsed by Council on October 16, 2018 and subsequently submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy for approval.  This approval was granted on January 7, 2020.
